About Aja Ekadashi

Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month is known as Aja Ekadashi. In Padma Purana, Aja Ekadashi is said to be very virtuous. The importance of this Ekadashi also increases because it comes 4 days after Janmashtami. According to Padma Purana, by observing the fast of Aja Ekadashi, happiness and prosperity resides in a person's life. Also, by observing fast on this day, happiness, prosperity and salvation are attained in a person's life. Also, a person gets freedom from all sins.

According to Padmapuran, the person who observes the fast of Aja Ekadashi gets freedom from all sins. The sins of a person are destroyed due to the effect of Aja Ekadashi. Also, due to the effect of this fast, a person attains salvation. It is also believed that observing this fast gives auspicious results like Ashwamedha Yagya.

It is said that worshipping Lord Vishnu on Aja Ekadashi and donating to the poor and needy people brings happiness, prosperity and blessings of wealth in life. There are also beliefs that fasting on Ekadashi frees a person from all sins.

Like other festivals, charity is considered to be of great importance on Aaja Ekadashi. It is said that donating food and grains on this auspicious day is the best. Therefore, on the auspicious occasion of Ekadashi, become a part of virtue by supporting the project of Narayan Seva Sansthan to donate food to the downtrodden, poor and handicapped children.

Charity is considered very important in Hindu religious scriptures. People who believe in Sanatan culture have been understanding the importance of charity for centuries. People donate for peace of mind, fulfillment of wishes, attainment of virtue, freedom from the effects of planetary defects and to receive the blessings of God. Charity is also important in Hinduism because it is said that the benefits of charity are received not only during life but also after death. But you get the virtuous result of charity only when the charity is given at the right time, in the right manner and with a true heart to the deserving person.

About us

Shree Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha Evam Gaulok Dham Sewa Samiti’ is one of the largest Gaurakshashala of Desi cows in India. We protect, feed & shelter ailing, starving, destitute and stray Desi Cows & Bulls, the majority of which are abandoned by their owners or saved from butchers. Most of these Gauvansh are milk barren. These cows are brought to our Gaushala from tough conditions. All these cows are fed, sheltered, and looked after by hundreds of Gausewaks who work round the clock. This Gaushala is run and managed by saints. We do not exploit these cows for milk but distribute it free to saints / tapaswis / Gausewaks / Ashrams.

We started with just 11 cows in the year 2010 in Haridwar, and presently we shelter and feed more than 30000 cows & Bulls in various locations all put together. This number is ever-increasing as stray Desi Cows & Bulls mostly deserted by their owner are brought to our Gaurakshashala every day.
