Padmini Ekadashi 2026

Padmini Ekadashi is regarded as one of the rarest and most spiritually significant Ekadashis in Sanatan Dharma. This sacred Ekadashi falls during the holy Adhik Maas (Purushottam Maas), which occurs once in approximately three years as per the Hindu calendar. Due to its occurrence in this highly auspicious month dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Padmini Ekadashi holds immense religious and spiritual importance for devotees.

This divine Ekadashi is observed during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) of Adhik Maas. According to Hindu scriptures, worshipping Lord Vishnu and observing a fast on this day helps devotees attain spiritual purification, divine blessings, and freedom from negative karmas. Padmini Ekadashi is believed to be extremely dear to Lord Vishnu, and observing this vrat with faith and devotion grants prosperity, peace, and salvation.

Importance of Padmini Ekadashi

Padmini Ekadashi is considered highly auspicious because it occurs only during Adhik Maas, which itself is regarded as a sacred month for spiritual practices, devotion, charity, and self-discipline. It is believed that devotees who observe this vrat sincerely receive blessings equivalent to performing several yajnas, pilgrimages, and acts of charity.

This sacred fast helps devotees cleanse past sins, remove obstacles from life, and attain inner peace and spiritual upliftment. Scriptures also mention that observing Padmini Ekadashi vrat with devotion can free a person from the cycle of birth and death and lead the soul towards Moksha.

Important Rituals to Perform

On the day of Padmini Ekadashi, devotees wake up early in the morning, take a holy bath, and worship Lord Vishnu with flowers, fruits, Tulsi leaves, incense, and lamps. Many devotees observe a strict fast throughout the day and night while engaging in prayers, bhajans, mantra chanting, and reading sacred scriptures.

Reciting Vishnu Sahasranama, Bhagavad Gita, and chanting the name of Lord Vishnu are considered highly beneficial on this auspicious day. Devotees are advised to avoid consuming grains, rice, beans, onion, garlic, and tamasic food during the vrat period. Charity, เค—เฅŒ เคธเฅ‡เคตเคพ, feeding the needy, and helping the poor are also considered extremely meritorious on Padmini Ekadashi.

Benefits of Padmini Ekadashi

Observing the Padmini Ekadashi fast with full devotion is believed to bring happiness, prosperity, health, and success in life. This sacred vrat helps devotees attain mental peace, spiritual growth, and freedom from past karmic burdens. It strengthens self-control, devotion, and positivity in life.

Worshipping Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on this day is believed to remove financial troubles, fulfill wishes, and bless devotees with abundance and harmony. According to religious beliefs, the punya attained by observing Padmini Ekadashi vrat is considered far greater than many other religious rituals and sacred pilgrimages.

About us

Shree Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha Evam Gaulok Dham Sewa Samitiโ€™ is one of the largest Gaurakshashala of Desi cows in India. We protect, feed & shelter ailing, starving, destitute and stray Desi Cows & Bulls, the majority of which are abandoned by their owners or saved from butchers. Most of these Gauvansh are milk barren. These cows are brought to our Gaushala from tough conditions. All these cows are fed, sheltered, and looked after by hundreds of Gausewaks who work round the clock. This Gaushala is run and managed by saints. We do not exploit these cows for milk but distribute it free to saints / tapaswis / Gausewaks / Ashrams.

We started with just 11 cows in the year 2010 in Haridwar, and presently we shelter and feed more than 35000 cows & Bulls in various locations all put together. This number is ever-increasing as stray Desi Cows & Bulls mostly deserted by their owner are brought to our Gaurakshashala every day.
